Can
you play outdoors?
Yes, weather permitting. The harp must be positioned
on a hard surface such as a patio, gazebo or solid
walkway. A shaded or covered area is preferred,
especially when the temperature is high and the
sun is bright.

Do
you have amplification?
Yes, a small PA system is available to accommodate
larger groups and outdoor venues.

Can
you move to a second location at a performance?
Yes, it is common to play two parts to an event,
but please note that moving does require breakdown
and reset time, which varies depending on the
location. Reset time is part of the total time
of the event.

What
is the contract arrangement?
A contract is sent out for each event. A 50% deposit
(non-refundable) is required to confirm the event
and reserve your desired day. The remaining 50%
is due in full on the day of the engagement.

How
far ahead do I need to reserve?
Dates can book anywhere from a day ahead (highly
unusual) to 1 year in advance. Because Ruth Myers’
services are reserved on a first-come, first-served
basis, the earlier you contact her, the better
are your chances for engaging her for your event.

What
is your setup time?
Ruth Myers arrives at your location not less than
30 minutes prior to the start time of the event.
The duration of the event will be noted as the
total time between the beginning of her playing
to the end of playing.

What
happens in the event of illness or emergency for
the performer?
This is rare, fortunately, but Ruth Myers is a
key member of the informal but tight network of
area harpists. Even at the last minute, she will
assure that a suitable substitute appears at your
event, so this is one concern you need not have.

What
happens if the event is cancelled?
As spelled out in all contracts, deposits are
non-refundable. Cancellations of less than 45
days before the event may require payment in full,
depending on the circumstances of the cancellation.
