Students of Ruth Myers have appeared as orchestra
members and as soloists with the Detroit,
Plymouth, Lake St. Clair, International, Southern
Great Lakes, Dearborn, Lansing, Warren,
and Birmingham-Bloomfield symphonies.
She founded and directs the Detroit Metropolitan
Harp Ensemble comprised of 12-25 young
harpists from her private studio. Begun as a training
and preparatory ensemble for future orchestral
work, the group has performed at many concerts
and workshops throughout Southeastern Michigan.
As a result, it has prepared harpists for participation
in Livonia, Oakland, Dearborn Youth Symphonies,
the Metropolitan Youth Symphony, DSO Civic Orchestra,
and Michigan Honors Orchestra.

Ruth Myers' harp studio is located
in Dearborn. Private lessons
are supplemented by recitals
aimed to provide young students with invaluable
opportunities to perform in a supportive environment.
Recitals feature solo as well as chamber and ensemble
experiences. To meet the need for harps for beginning
students, a small number are available for rental.
